The International Symposium on Business Information Systems is organized by the Scientific and Educational Forum for Business Information Systems (SEFBIS, an Association of the John von Neumann Computer Society) with the aim of providing researchers, practitioners, developers, consultants, end-users and PhD students and gives an opportunity to join in a common place sharing experience and knowledge in the field of IT-supported business information systems. The ISBIS is intended to be a forum to expose and share current and future research work and innovations in this area, as well as in the relationship among them. One of the primary objectives of ISBIS is to promote and encourage the participants to present their results in the interdisciplinary research and in the development and application of technical solutions. The actual knowledge-based infrastructure support for research papers going to be presented at ISBIS are whished to perform the analytical and synthetic way of thinking applied in particular to the Business Information Systems area and strengthened by establishing relationships with other diverse areas.
– EIS: Enterprise Information Systems and Management of EIS – Enterprise Architecture Integration: forces, solutions – Service Oriented Architecture Concept: Traditions vs. Novelties – Results and application of business information systems in the EU countries – IS/IT project management, ROI in IT investment, cost/benefit analysis – Up-to-Date paradigms, methodologies, tools and techniques (theory and practice) – Business process and information system reorganization – IT solutions beeing on duty of business (electronic and mobile solutions, Web technology, content management, efficiency) – Technology and knowledge transfer – Intelligent BISs, interorganizational solutions – Managing IS/IT processes and IT business units, audit and BCP projects on IT

Participants submitted a position paper (extended abstract, in English, typed in single spaced format, approx. 2 pages) relating to one of the topics. Each paper was reviewed by 2 reviewers and the best 10% was published in SEFBIS Journal. Downloadable files: instructions, paper form.
Important Dates: 30th of July, 2007: Submission of extended abstracts (max 2 pages of A4 size, see paper form) 30th of August, 2007: Notifications of Acceptance 30th of Sept, 2007: Submission of camera-ready papers: hard copies and electronic versions (max 10 pages of A4 size)

Awards for PhD Students and Young Scientists The PhD students and the young scientists (max 35 Years of age) who present a paper and send the camera ready version before 30th of July can apply
